The Wise County town of Pound has received a $125,000 grant to redevelop a contaminated building. The Virginia Brownfields Restoration and Economic Redevelopment Assistance Fund has awarded the grant for the town to clean up and reuse the former People’s Bank of Pound building. The grant covers the cost of removing hazardous substances, demolition, and other work to make the site usable.
