Donation Allows for Floyd County Sheriff’s K-9 To Have Protective Vest

A Floyd County Sheriff’s Office K9 has a new protective vest sponsored in honor of a K9 killed in the line of duty in 2022. The Sheriff says K9 Bear received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc which, since its inception, has provided the $1800 vests to more than 5200 K9s in all 50 states. K9 Bear’s vest is embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K9 Drago, Floyd County, KY- EOW 6/30/22”. Drago died in an ambush in Allen in which a Floyd County Deputy and two Prestonsburg police officers were killed.
