A Corbin High School JROTC member has been awarded a US Army JROTC medal of heroism for his actions in saving a life last summer. Officials say Jacen Post was on a break with his troop at Camp Davy Crockett when he heard a cry for help and swam 100 yards across a lake to a campsite where someone was experiencing heat stroke. WYMT reports Jacen took the proper steps to help which Corbin High Senior army instructor Colonel Mike Farley says saved the kid’s life. Yesterday Post received the national honor.
