HAZARD, Ky. (WXKQ) – A Hazard woman has been arrested on felony child abandonment charges after police say two young children were left home alone.
Hazard Police responded early Friday morning after a 5-year-old was found walking alone in the street looking for his mother.
Investigators say 22-year-old Jacklynn Miller admitted leaving the children alone while she went to smoke marijuana with another person.
Police say the children were unsupervised for up to an hour in a home where officers also observed hazardous conditions.
Miller was charged with two counts of abandonment of a minor and lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
