Work is underway on a new affordable housing subdivision in Leslie County.
Last week the Housing Development Alliance broke ground on Leeco Estates which will have 19 affordable, energy-efficient homes.
Officials tell WYMT many of the soon-to-be-owners are doing the “sweat equity” of helping to work on the houses which are getting financial backing from several organizations.
The District 4 Magistrate says too many people are moving out of Leslie County and this is a step toward keeping families in the county.
