A Whitesburg man is facing federal charges on suspicion of drug trafficking in Perry County. Last month a federal grand jury indicted Austin Endicott for possession with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a substance containing methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. The indictment stems from a May 20 arrest in which Endicott allegedly possessed the drugs and a semi-automatic handgun along with about $1,200 in cash. If convicted, the trafficking carries a sentence of 5 to 40 years and the gun charge from 5 years to life in prison.
