Voters To Decide On Alcohol Sales in Fleming-Neon

Fleming-Neon voters get a chance to weigh in on alcohol sales this month. The May 21 election includes asking Fleming-Neon voters to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages which, under state law, would have its taxes go to police departments. The Mountain Eagle reports voters have already green-lit alcohol sales in Whitesburg and Jenkins but this is the first time Fleming-Neon will decide. In-person absentee voting begins next Wednesday, May 8, with excused voting May 8 through 15 in the County Clerk’s Office.
