City of Fleming-Neon and Letcher County Water & Sewer are receiving $9.6 million in infrastructure grants.
The United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development State Director Dr. Tom Carew will presents the grants to officials on Friday.
$5.4 million of the funding will go toward water line improvements. $1.7 million will go toward lift station rehabilitation and $2.5 million will go toward meter replacements.
Water infrastructure has been a challenge in multiple parts of Eastern Kentucky, including Letcher County.
