The University of Pikeville’s Dental School has received a $100,000 scholarship endowment from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Medicaid Kentucky.
The Tanner College of Dental Medicine says the new Anthem Dental Rural Medicine Scholarship will help cultivate a local and regional workforce of skilled dental professionals trained in a technologically rich environment and work to address a shortage of dental care
providers in the region.
The Appalachian News Express reports Anthem’s overall rural medical scholarship fund is now more than $1.2 million across Kentucky.
