Two people from Jenkins along with an Ohio man have been arrested on drug charges after the car they were in was stopped for speeding.
Kentucky State Police say they pulled the car over on U.S. 119 at Sidney and when the trooper smelled pot, he asked the people in the car to get out.
KSP alleges a search turned up meth, fentanyl and marijuana and they claim all three people said the drugs had been obtained out of state and brought to Kentucky.
David and Heather Howell of Jenkins and Isaiah Harrell of Columbus are charged with importing fentanyl, fentanyl trafficking and meth trafficking.
If convicted the fentanyl trafficking charge alone carries a 10-to-20 year sentence.
