Teenager Charged in Social Media Threat Against Perry County Central High School

A teen has reportedly been charged in connection with a social media threat made against Perry County Central High School.

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office says they were called Sunday evening after someone from the school saw the threat on a TikTok account.

Sheriff Joe Engle told WYMT his investigators and Kentucky State Police electronic crimes unit detectives worked with the social media company to find the source of the threat and did so pretty quickly.

Sheriff Engle said by Sunday night they had the person responsible in custody.

Because it’s a minor no names are being released but they say it is not a Perry County Central High student.

The minor has been charged with terroristic threatening and was taken to a detention center.
