Letcher County’s State Senator Johnnie Turner is said to be recovering following an accident at his home near Harlan Sunday night.
Turner had to be airlifted to a Tennessee hospital after he drove his riding lawnmower into the deep end of an empty pool at his home.
On Wednesday Senate Majority Spokesperson Dustin Isaacs said Turner remains in the ICU but has been able to sit upright and communicate and is making other positive signs of progression.
