FRANKFORT, Ky. (WXKQ) – Former Kentucky lawmaker Rocky Adkins has filed paperwork to run for governor in the 2027 Democratic primary, setting up a potential race against Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman, who announced her campaign earlier this year.
Adkins recently stepped down as Gov. Andy Beshear’s senior advisor after helping lead the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters and economic development efforts.
