The Cincinnati Reds announced they fired manager David Bell on Sunday night following the Reds’ 2-0 loss to Pittsburgh.
Bell, in his sixth season with the Reds, received a contract extension through the 2026 season last summer, but the Reds, at 76-81 currently, have missed the 2024 playoffs.
Bench coach Freddie Benavides will serve as the club’s interim manager for the final five games of this season.
