PSC Holding Public Hearing Today in Pike County on KY Power Increase Proposal

There’s another public hearing tonight to give your input on Kentucky Power’s proposal to increase energy rates by more than 18% next year. The Kentucky Public Service Commission has been holding the hearings to know how it would impact your family. Today’s hearing is from 5-8pm at the Pike County Courthouse. The Hazard Herald reports at a November 9 hearing in Hazard many residents spoke about dealing with financial hardships from the July 2022 flood. And the executive director of the Housing Development Alliance told the PSC that low-income households often incur the highest energy costs due to the conditions of their homes and heating and cooling systems.
