Prestonsburg Dentist Involved in Floyd County Murder Investigation Allowed Restricted Hours At Work

A Prestonsburg dentist out on bond in connection with a murder investigation will be allowed to go to his business on restricted hours.

On Monday the judge in the Amber Spradlin case ruled that Dr. Michael McKinney, who owns Floyd County Smiles, can go to the office daily to train someone to maintain the practice, but must be home by 5pm.

He is out on a $250,000 bond with home incarceration GPS while facing eight counts of
tampering with evidence.

His son, MK McKinney, is charged with Spradlin’s murder.

The Kentucky Board of Dentistry has suspended Michael McKinney’s license to practice
while they conduct their own investigation, but say he is allowed to keep the business.
