The president of the board of the Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter has resigned.
Tony Vaughn reportedly stepped down Tuesday although he will be in the job for about
one more week.
Earlier this summer the shelter had to close amid allegations of mismanagement leading some to call for Vaughn’s resignation.
WYMT reports a formal vote will have to be taken to replace him but for now board member Bill Colwell will serve as interim president as they work to round up more donations and volunteers.
