Pikeville Police Arrest Barricaded Man Making Threats

A man who barricaded himself and made threats at a Pikeville apartment building Monday is currently in the Pike County Jail on a long list of charges. Pikeville Police say it was a domestic violence incident at Myers Towers that escalated into Gerald Tackett allegedly wielding a gun and threatening to kill police if they opened the door. Mountain Top News reports police evacuated neighboring apartments and after trying to negotiate with Tackett used tear gas to get him into custody. He is charged with assault, menacing, terroristic threatening, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
