Pikeville Man Pleads Not Guilty in Connection to Murder of His Mother

A Pikeville man has pleaded not guilty to several charges connected to the alleged murder of his mother in October.

Alex Yuhas was in court on Wednesday.

He was arrested after Kentucky State Police troopers responded to a domestic disturbance call
for help from his 75-year-old mother, Paulette Mullins.

WYMT reports with the 911 dispatcher reportedly hearing gunshots during the call, the Special Response Team was called out.

After several hours of negotiations Yuhas was taken into custody and Mullins was found dead in the home.

Earlier this month Yuhas was indicted by a grand jury for murder, terroristic threatening, and assaulting a police officer for allegedly spitting on an arresting officer.

Yuhas us being held on a $500,000 full cash bond.
