Pikeville Doctor Sentenced To Two Years in Prison

A Pikeville doctor is going to prison for at least two years for illegally prescribing amphetamines.

The US Attorney’s Office says Jason Stamper was sentenced to 32 months after pleading guilty to charges related to giving out prescriptions for Ritalin and Adderall to an undercover officer without a legitimate medical purpose, examinations or follow up blood tests and increased the doses along the way.

Stamper has to serve at least 85 percent of the sentence and after that will be on probation for three years.
