More trouble for a Kentucky couple already in hot water for allegations about the operation of their addiction treatment centers including one in Pikeville. John and Myra Elam of Morehead were arrested Saturday after being stopped for reckless driving and speeding. John Elam was charged with DUI and Myra Elam with public intoxication. Mountain Top News reports the Elams operate Edgewater Recovery Center which faces a False Claims Act lawsuit of fraud for ordering unnecessary tests and billing the government and falsifying patient records in order to qualify for state grants.
