LETCHER COUNTY (Mar. 18, 2024) The Kentucky Department of Transportation (KYTC) advises the public of an embankment repair project on KY 7 South in Letcher County. The project begins at milepoint 10.3 near Powder Rd and extends through 11.7 just past Doty Creek (1.7 miles South of KY 15)
King Crete, will begin repairs Tues., Mar. 19, at 8 a.m. Crews will work Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily for the next two to three weeks. Traffic will be controlled by on-site portable signals and reduced to one lane with alternating flow. Motorists can expect long delays of upwards of 20 minutes or more when the drilling equipment is in use.
Motorists should prepare for delays and seek alternate routes during peak travel times. Please pay close attention to equipment and crews in the work zone and watch for signage.
