No One Hurt After Bus Drops in Ditch on Cumberland River

No one was hurt but the Letcher County school community is once again shaken following a Wednesday morning accident between a school bus and a coal truck. It happened around 7am on US 119 in the “Rocky Point” curve in Eolia where a southbound bus with kids from Arlie Boggs and Letcher County Central High School met the coal truck. In the bus driver’s attempt to yield to the truck, the bus’s front right-side tire dropped off into the ditch and got stuck in the mud. Another bus came to get the kids to school where there were counselors available for anyone who needed it. Last month a student had to be hospitalized after a bus rolled over following a crash with a coal truck on KY-932. WYMT reports nine of the kids on the bus Wednesday were also in the January crash
