A murder indictment has been handed down by a Leslie County grand jury against a Coon Creek Fire Department member who prosecutors allege was driving drunk when he crashed a fire truck and left the scene, leaving another firefighter trapped.
WYMT reports Austin Turner is also charged with wanton endangerment for the October 2023
crash in which Regina Huffman died.
Police say she was alive when Turner left and was pulled from the truck by other first responders, but later died.
Turner’s mother is also facing charges for allegedly helping him to get out of the truck and take off.
