Minor Fire Occurs at Hindman Elementary School

There’s some minor damage at Hindman Elementary School after a fire broke out Thursday afternoon. Knott County Schools Superintendent Brent Hoover says it started in a construction dumpster adjacent to the school around 5pm. He says a community member saw it and the fire department got there quickly so the fire was contained with minimal damage to the school. He says the problem inside was some minor smoke entering the kitchen and cafeteria. Everyone was evacuated and there were no injuries. He says some activities scheduled at Hindman today have been moved to Carr Creek
