An arrest has been made in connection with a fire at a Pikeville apartment building Friday. Police allege William Hamilton confessed to setting the fire at his building on the Left Fork of Island Creek.
He was captured behind the building after witnesses suggested he had done it and pointed him out to police.
Mountain Top News cites court documents in which the arresting officer claims Hamilton asked them to let him stay and watch it burn.
Hamilton is charged with first-degree arson which carries between 20 years to life in prison.
