A man from Inez is facing desecration charges for allegedly setting fire to a religious display.
Devin Morris was arrested following an investigation into a June 7 incident in which the Sheriff’s Office alleges he was one of three people who set fire to a prayer altar on the God’s Promise Trail.
Mountain Top News reports Morris is charged with a felony count of willfully setting a fire to land he doesn’t own, along with misdemeanor desecration of venerated objects, criminal mischief and trespassing.
The Sheriff’s Office has not released information about the other two suspects.
