Stanley J. Sexton, age 71, of Leatherwood, passed away on Tuesday November 12, 2024 at the Hazard ARH.

He is survived by 2 stepdaughters:  Bridgette McIntosh of Richmond and Misty Delph of Taylorsville, KY; 1 son: Charlie Sexton of Pikeville; 1 brother: Estill Sexton of Neon and 1 grandchild.

Funeral services for Stanley J. Sexton will be held at 11:00am Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Baker Cemetery at Colson with Frank Fleming officiating.

Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery at Colson.

Della Wooton Craft, age 67, of Ice, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at her residence.

She is survived by her husband: James Craft; 1 son: James Craft; 1 daughter: Tabitha Meade; 1 brother: Bobby Wooton and 1 sister: Betty Napier.

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the Kings Chapel Church at Whitco.

Funeral services for Della Craft will be held at 1:00pm tomorrow, Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Kings Chapel Church with Frank Adams officiating.

Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at UZ.

Lenora Lawson, age 87, of Whitesburg, passed away on Monday November 11, 2024 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.

Danny Hughes, age 70, of Millstone, passed away on Friday November 8, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center.

He is survived by 3 daughters: Hailey Hughes of Whitesburg, Brandie Hughes of Millstone and Ruby Marcum of Kingscreek; 1 son: Brandon Holland of Millstone; 1 sister: Donna Sue Hughes of Kentucky along with 8 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00pm this evening, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the Everidge Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services for Danny Hughes will be held at 1:00pm tomorrow, Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Everidge Funeral Home Chapel with Chuck Hall officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Whitesburg.

Riley Cook, age 90, of Whitesburg, passed away on Monday November 11, 2024 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.

He is survived by 1 daughter: Pam Mullins of London; 5 sons: Mark Cook, Donald Cook, Michael Cook, Shawn Cook and Robert Cook all of Whitesburg; 2 brothers: Wendell Cook of Somerset and Wilmer Cook of; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Riley Cook will be held at 1:00pm this afternoon, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the Everidge Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesburg with Tony Brown, Dock Frazier and John Conn officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bony Banks Cemetery at UZ.

She is survived by her mother: Glenda Sue Tolliver; her father: Herman Polly, 2 brothers: Mikey Tolliver and Brian Polly; 2 sisters: Janice Lynn and Rachel Polly; one daughter: Cortney Akemon; 1 son: Clayton Akemon and two grandsons Mason & Isaiah Cole.

Visitation will be held after 6:00pm this evening Wednesday, November 13th & after 6:00pm on Thursday, November 14th at Defeated Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.

Funeral Services for Darneshia Mae Akemon will be held at 11:00am Friday, November 15th at the Defeated Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.

Burial will be at the Cornett Cemetery at Linefork.

Mary Jeanette (Johnson) Maggard, age 88, of Partridge, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 at her residence.

She is survived by two children: Paul Maggard of Partridge and Mary Ann Trail of Calhoun, Georgia; four grandchildren Mary Beth Craig of Partridge, Dessa Cassandra Raleigh of Partridge, Robert William Trail of Calhoun, GA and Paul Daniel Trail of Suwannee, GA; six great-grandchildren; three brothers: Douglas Johnson of Cumberland, James Johnson of Orange Park, Florida and Vilice “Bubby” Johnson of Fallon, Nevada.

Visitation for Mary Jeanette (Johnson) Maggard will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Thursday, November 14th, 2024, at the chapel of Tri-City Funeral Home at Benham.

Burial will be at 11:00am on Friday, November 15th at the family cemetery on Collier’s Creek.
