Linda Kilbourne

Linda Kilbourne, age 67, of Eolia passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at the Whitesburg ARH. 

She is survived by her Husband: Bobby Kilbourne of Eolia; 1 Son: B.J. Kilbourne; 2 Daughters: Velinia Blanton and Amanda Gilbert Kilbourne; 1 Sister: Katie Thomas and 4 Grandchildren; 

Funeral services for Linda Kilbourne will be held at 1:00pm tomorrow, Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Jones officiating. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Huff Cemetery at Cumberland.

John L. Thomas

John L. Thomas, age 86, of Prestonsburg passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. 

He is survived by his wife: Ethelene Frazier Thomas of Prestonsburg. 1 Son: Conan Brett Thomas of Somerset; 1 Daughter: Katrina Renee Thomas of Lexington; 3 Brothers: Roscoe L. Thomas of North Carolina; Raymond Thomas of Whitesburg and Walter Thomas of Indiana; 1 Sister: Alice Faye Thomas Craft of Whitesburg; 3 Grandchildren and  4 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services for John L. Thomas will be held at 11:00am Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Visitation will be after 5:00pm tomorrow, Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery at Cowan.

Carol Dean Brown

Carol Dean Brown, age 79 of Blackey, passed away at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard on Sunday, March 3, 2024

She is survived by her husband: Phillip Brown and 2 sisters: Martha Wilson of Port Charlotte, Florida and Audrey White of Loxley, Alabama. 

Funeral services for Carol Dean Brown will be today, Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the Doermann Presbyterian Church in Blackey.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. this morning with services beginning at 1:00pm this afternoon. 

Burial will follow at the Caudill Cemetery at Red Star. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Campbells Branch Community Center.

Linda Jane Meade

Linda Jane Meade, age 76, of Jenkins, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Whitesburg ARH. 

She is survived by her husband: Charles “Gib” Meade; 2 daughters: Angela Goff of Jenkins and Beverly DeSimone of Richmond; 1 brother: Danny Hall of Louisville, two sisters; Patricia Stallard of Ermine and Ona Mae Scalf of Hazard; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

Graveside services for Linda Jane Meade will be held at 1:00pm Thursday at the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking. 

Visitation will be held from 6:00-9:00pm at the Hall & Jones Funeral Home, Jenkins Chapel, with a service beginning at 7:00PM this evening with Danny Hurst officiating. 

The Hall & Jones Funeral Home, Jenkins Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Danny Lowell Brashear

Danny Lowell Brashear, age 84, of Viper, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.

He is survived by 2 Daughters: Robin Brashear of Viper & Becky Brashear of Viper; 1 Grandchild; 1 Great Grandchild, 2 Nieces and a Great Nephew.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm, this evening, Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel in Hazard.

Funeral Services for Danny Lowell Brashear will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel in Hazard with Jack Maggard officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Callie Farler Cemetery at Viper.

In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center and Bluegrass Care Navigators.

Maria Berner Hall, age 89, of Viper, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital in Hyden.

She is survived by 1 Daughter: Elizabeth Pennington of Viper; 2 Sons: Harry Fred Hall of Speedwell, TN & Robert Vaughn Hall of Viper; 2 Grandchildren: 2 Great Grandchildren and Special Family: Susie Medaris & Tammy Caudill . 

Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00pm at the Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church on Thursday, March 7, 2024. 

Funeral Service for Maria Berner Hall will follow at the Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church at 3:00 PM, Thursday, March 7, 2024, with Father Mike Chowning officiating. 

Burial will be in John Henry Hall Cemetery at Viper.
