Verna Sergent Hurt, age 89, of Thornton, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2024, at her residence.
She is survived by 1 son: Danny Hurt of Thornton; grandchildren: Vanessa Vanover of Jenkins, Erich Hurt of Thornton and Heather Hurt of Louisville, and Eric of Madisonville, Kentucky; 1 great granddaughter and 2 great grandsons; special daughter in law: Rene Hurt; 2 sisters: Ritter Hall and Mary Bealer both of Lorain, Ohio; 2 brothers: Henry Sergent of Lorain, Ohio and Jesse Sergent of Thornton.
Funeral services for Verna Sergent Hurt will be held at 11:00am Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Craft officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00-10:00pm this evening, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

Vickie Carolyn Brock, age 73 of Mayking, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard.
She is survived by 1 son: Victor N. Brock of Mayking; grandchildren: Brandon J. Watts, Eugene Brock, Cheyanna Brock and Christopher Brock and 1 great grandchild along with special family members that were like brothers and sisters: Darlene Holbrook, Nyoka Webb and others.
A Memorial Service for Vickie Carolyn Brock will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Pine Creek Church with Johnnie Williams officiating.

He is survived by 2 sons: Paul Rittenhouse of Jeremiah and Willie Patrick Rittenhouse of Florida; 1 step son: Tommy Kilbourne; 3 grandchildren: Karen Amburgey, Sam Rittenhouse, and Kayla Kiser and 3 great grandchildren.
