Gary Bowling

Gary Bowling, age 72, of Whitesburg, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center. 

He is survived by 1 brother: Jerry Bowling of Colson.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-9:00pm Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the Lighthouse Community Church at Camp Branch. 

Funeral services for Gary Bowling will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, February 9, 2024 at the Lighthouse Community Church with Glen Gross officiating.

Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

Jeffrey L. Sexton

Jeffrey L. Sexton, age 59, of Jackhorn, passed away Saturday February 3, 2024.

He is survived by 1 daughter: Brittany Cook of Isom; 2 sons: Ricky Sexton of Craft’s Colley and Christopher Puckett of Isom and 6 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00pm this evening, Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the Everidge Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesburg.

A memorial service for Jeffrey L. Sexton will be held at 7:00pm, this evening, Tuesday, at the Everidge Funeral Home Chapel with Chase Lucas officiating.

Mary Adams

Mary Adams, age 78, of Jackhorn, passed away Saturday February 3, 2024.

She is survived by 1 sister: Susie Tolliver of London; 1 brother: Billy Adams of Chattanooga, TN; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Nancy Faye Gibson, age 70, of Colson, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.

She is survived by her husband: Darrell Gibson; 1 son: Jimmy Darrell Gibson of Colson; 1 sister: Libby Caudill of Georgetown; 3 grandchildren; special god daughter: Tracey Mullins; special aunt: Monica “Rosie” Carter; special nieces: Wanda Sue Pace and Tekiah Watts; special friends: Towonna Jones, Brenda Adams, and Glenda Banks; adopted son: Roland Slone and his son: Hunter Slone; special children to her heart: Dusty Banks, Logan Craft, Kaleb Thomas, Katie Parker, and Belle Parker.

Funeral services for Nancy Faye Gibson will be held at 12:00 noon today, Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the Colson Pentecostal Church with Chuck Hall, Bruce Stamper, and Virgil Caudill officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Gibson Cemetery at Colson.

Sheila Kay Martin, age 50, passed away on Thursday February 1, 2024 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.

She is survived by her father: Garland Gilliam and his wife Estelle Gilliam of Gordon; her husband: Ramon Martin of WV; 1 Son: Ronald Good of Emmalena; 1 Daughter: Monica Good of Gays Creek; 3 Brothers: Garland Gilliam of Somerset, Adam Gilliam of Corbin and Tony Gilliam of Gordon; 1 Sister: Cindy Mowry of North Carolina; Maternal Grandfather: Shafter Couch of Sassafras and 4 Grandchildren.

Visitation for Sheila Kay Martin will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm tomorrow, Wednesday February 7, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard.

A Memorial Service for Sheila Kay Martin will follow at 2:00pm tomorrow, on Wednesday, at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with B.J. Campbell officiating.

Betty Rose, age 75, of Whitesburg passed away Sunday February 4, 2024, at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home.

Donna Faye Collins 

Donna Faye Collins, age 72, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2024 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. 

She is survived by her children:

Ronnie Bowling, Phillip Bowling, James Bowling, June Sexton and Monica Colley; a host of Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; 4 Brothers: Lovell Collins, Oscar Collins, Wesley Collins and Johnny Darrell Collins; 5 Sisters: Evelyn Smith, Danzel Pugh, Judy Collins, Christine Costa and Rose Pugh; 3 Step Brothers: John Paul Morton, Charles Morton and Stephen Morton and Step Sister: Tina Sexton.

Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00pm Friday, February 9, 2024 with services at 7:00pm.  

Funeral services for Donna Faye Collins will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Hindman Funeral Chapel in Hindman with Jerry McKinley Holland and Joe Burns officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Sexton Cemetery at Colson.

Johnny Eversole, age 94, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at his residence.

He is survived by 2 sisters: Daisy Sibrava and Bea Callahan, both of Totz; his children: Jerry Fields of Xenia, OH; Barbara Clark of LaFollette, TN; Kathy McKinley of New Albany, IN; Shirley Redmond of LaFollette, TN; Johnny Jr. Eversole of LaFollette, TN; Wilma Halcomb of Totz and Phyllis Eversole of Lexington; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with 58 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:00pm today, Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the Tri City Funeral Home at Benham. 

Funeral services for Johnny Eversole will follow at 1:00pm this afternoon, Tuesday, at the Tri-City Funeral Home at Benham.

Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery at Cumberland.

Roberta “Bobbie” Jo Gothard

Roberta “Bobbie” Jo Gothard, age 84, of Cumberland, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at her residence. 

She is survived by 2 daughters: Cathy Boggs of Benham and Christy Whitaker of Ovenfork; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; James Richard Gilliam of Dunedin, FL a and 1 sister-in-law: Dorothy Butler of Middletown KY.

Visitation will be after 5:00pm Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Tri City Funeral Home at Benham with a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm with Dennis Williams officiating.

Burial and a graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Friday, February 9, 2024 at Mountain View Cemetery.
