Alice Lee Short-Knight, age 76, of Mayking, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025 at her residence.

She is survived by 4 sons: James Sturgill of Mayking, Claude Short of Tennessee, Verlin Short of Mayking and Conley Short of Mayking; 2 daughters: Corinna Brashear of Georgia and Christy Sexton Short of Mayking; 2 sisters: Priscilla Lucas of Thornton and Alicia Brock of Mayking; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Alice Lee Short-Knight will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Cram Creek Pentecostal Church with Johnny Ison and Jeremiah Short officiating.

Visitation will be after 4:00pm Friday at the Cram Creek Pentecostal Church.

Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at Mayking.

Deborah Lynn Hall, 65 of Blackey, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the UK Hospital in Lexington.

She is survived by her husband: Donnie Hall; 2 sons: Michael Smith of Morehead and Keith Smith of Letcher; 2 stepsons: Donnie Grayson Hall and Matthew Scott Hall both of Middlesboro; 3 brothers: Ronald Packard of Mentor, Ohio, Bruce Packard of Huntington, West Virginia and Brian Packard of Radcliff; 1 sister: Ellen Combs of Carcassonne; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Funeral services for Deborah Lynn Hall will be held at 12:00 Noon, today, Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the Little Bull Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Earl Combs, David Jent and Allen Fugate officiating.

Burial will follow in the Jent Cemetery at Carcassonne.

She is survived by Four Daughters: Charlotte “Faye” Combs, Betty “Jean” Sumner, Carolyn “Sue” Porter & Shirley Coots; Three Sons: Bobby Coots, Wayne Coots & Randy Coots; Two Sisters: Joann Watts & Mary Ruth Caudill; One Brother: Robert Halcomb; Eleven Grandchildren; Thirteen Great Grandchildren; Two Bonus Grandchildren; Four Bonus Great Grandchildren and Special Caregivers: Joann Watts & Hershella Coots.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 9:00pm Friday, February 28, 2025 at Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel in Hazard with additional services Friday at 7PM.

Funeral services for Irene Coots will be held at 1:00pm Saturday March 1, 2025 at Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel in Hazard John Conn, Jamie Niece, Rodney Allen & Duane Allen officiating.

She is survived by three sons, Johnny Paul Lewis II of Harlan, Jerry Lewis, Jeff Lewis all of Cumberland, 4 stepsons: Thomas Holden of Evarts, Devin Simmons of Cumberland, Robert Lewis and Gary Shepherd both of Harlan along with twenty-two grandchildren.
