Maggie Lou Kincer

Maggie Lou Kincer, age 91, of Webb Branch, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home. 

She is survived by two sisters: Minnie LaRue Kincer of Indiana and Thelma Jean Shelton of Ohio along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Maggie Lou Kincer will be held at 1:00pm tomorrow, Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Craft and Jeff Hart officiating. 

Visitation will he 6:00-10:00pm this evening, Monday, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking.

The Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Josephine “Cat” Campbell

Josephine “Cat” Campbell, age 88 of Cornettsville, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024, at her residence. 

She is survived by 2 sons: Freddie Campbell and Artemus Campbell both of Hallie; 2 daughters: Mary Ann Cottrel of Knott County and Taffie McCool of Hallie; 2 sisters: Bobbie Jean Justice of North Vernon, Indiana and Teresa Griffith of Hazard; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Josephine “Cat” Campbell will be held at 1:00pm this afternoon, Monday, July 8, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Fields, Ross Wright, Josh Huff, Danny Dixon, and others officiating. 

Visitation will be today from 11:00am  until the time of service at 1:00pm. Monday, July 8, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Hiram Campbell Cemetery at Hallie.

William Donald “Don” Childers

William Donald Childers, age 92, of Whitesburg, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife: Peggy Jo Ratliff Childers; two daughters: Donna Jo Childers of Nicholasville and Ina Michelle (Missy) Matthews, her husband Charles Matthews Jr. and their children Eli Matthews and Isaac Matthews, all of Whitesburg; granddaughter Carlie Childers Cornett, grandson Jordan Childers and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate charitable gifts be made to the First Baptist Church of Whitesburg or to the double kwik Fueling the Future Foundation. 

A memorial service for William Donald “Don” Childers will be held at 1:00pm this afternoon, Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Whitesburg First Baptist Church.

Bishop Willie Lamb

Bishop Willie Lamb, age 100, of McRoberts, passed away in Akron, Ohio, on Saturday, June 22, 2024. 

A local visitation for Bishop Willie Lamb will take place today, Monday July 8, from 12:00 noon to 8:00pm at the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church. 

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon tomorrow, Tuesday,  at the Tom Biggs Cemetery at McRoberts.
