Maxie Webb, age 94, of Jenkins passed away Sunday July 14, 2024 at her residence. 

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time for Maxie Webb and will be announced later by the Hall and Jones Funeral Home, Jenkins Chapel.

Lettie Faye Slone Hall

Lettie Faye Slone Hall, age 81, of Winchester, formerly of Whitesburg, passed away on Friday  July 12, 2024.   

She is survived by 1 son: Jeff Hall; 1 brother: Wilson “Jay” Slone; 1 sister: Della “Dixie” Watkins, grandchildren Larry Brock Jr, Brandon Brock, Brittany Brock, Samantha Hall and Matthew Hall along with 5 great grandchildren. 

The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to Alzheimer’s research in her memory.  

Visitation will be after 6:00pm Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at the Hemphill Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Lettie Faye Slone Hall will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Hemphill Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the Beaverdam Cemetery at Colson. 

The Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Elvie Jane Godsey

Elvie Jane Godsey, age 63, of Thornton, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home.

She is survived by two brothers: Trilvie Johnson of Shelby Gap and Charles Johnson of Dorton.

Funeral services for Elvie Jane Godsey will be held at 11:00am, this morning, Monday, July 15, 2024 at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home with Richard Gibson and others officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Sebastian’s Branch Cemetery at Speight.

Kimberly Campbell, age 52, of Viper,  passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. 

She is survived by One Daughter: Haley Campbell of Richmond; One Son: Joshua Campbell of Busy; One Sister: Lisa Thomas of Manchester and One Grandchild.

A Graveside Service for Kimberly Campbell will be at the Hurt Cemetery at Lotts Creek at 1:00pm this afternoon, Monday, July 15, 2024

Connie Sue Mitchell Whitaker

Connie Sue Mitchell Whitaker, age 66 of Delphia, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, surrounded by her family at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.

She is survived by her husband: Jim Whitaker of Delphia; 1 son: Michael Christopher Whitaker of Viper; 1 daughter: Melissa McCoy of Georgetown; three grandsons and one great grandson.

No services for Connie Sue Mitchell Whitaker will be held.

Burial will be in the Whispering Pine Cemetery at Delphia.

Charles “Chuck” Rice

Charles “Chuck” Rice, age 53, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, July 12th, 2024, at the Harlan ARH. 

He is survived by his mother: Johnny Jean Deal Rice; his wife: Carol, 1 daughter: Amber Holland; 1 step-son: Greg Addington; 2 step-daughters: Carolyn Sturgill and Diane Addington; 2 brothers: Rick Rice and Auburn Rice; 1 sister: Ruby Hall; 6 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.

Celebration of Life Services will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, beginning at 12 noon with services at 2:00pm with Billy Lewis officiating at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home in Cumberland.  

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made directly to the funeral home to help with funeral expense.

Barbara Mae Blevins

Barbara Mae Blevins, age 85, of Myra, passed away Saturday, July 13,2024, at her residence. 

She is survived by two sons: Shawn Blevins of Lexington and Shane Blevins of Dorton; two daughters: Misti Stewart of Shelby Gap and Tuana Bentley of Dorton, three grandchildren that she raised; Emily Blevins, Harleigh Blevins and Paislee Blevins, 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Barbara Mae Blevins will be held at 11:00am tomorrow, Tuesday August 16, 2024 at the Beefhide First Alliance Church with Jerry Adkins officiating. 

Visitation will be at the Beefhide First Alliance Church after 6:00pm this evening, Monday, with a service beginning at 7:00pm tonight.
