Elmer Lewis Hall

Elmer Lewis Hall, age 93 of Louisville, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at the Norton Womens and Childrens Hospital in Louisville. 

He is survived by his wife: Alice Richardson Hall; 1 son: Delmer Hall of Louisville; 1 daughter: Ella Flowers of Louisville; 2 brothers: Doug Hall of Stockbridge, Georgia and Leslie Hall of Jenkins; 4 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren.

Funeral services for Elmer Lewis Hall will be held at 11:00am Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Hemphill Freewill Baptist Church with Danny Hurst officiating. 

Visitation will be from 6:00-10:00pm this evening, Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Hemphill Freewill Baptist Church. 

Burial will follow in the Hall Cemetery at Deane.

Dan Morgan Potter Jr.

Dan Morgan Potter Jr., age 74, of Alexandria, KY, formerly of Millstone, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Carmel Manor Nursing Home/Rehab Center in Fort Thomas, KY.

He is survived by 4 children: Tina Albers, Dan Morgan Potter III, Todd Potter and Courtney Evans; 1 sister: Ada Braun and 6 grandchildren.

A local visitation will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Hall & Jones Funeral Home, in Jenkins.

Funeral services for Dan Morgan Potter Jr. will follow at 1:00 Saturday at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home in Jenkins. 

Burial will follow in the the Riley Bentley Cemetery at Deane.

Junior Paul Fields

Junior Paul Fields, age 75, of Totz, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Harlan ARH. 

He is survived by his wife: Norma Cavins Fields; 2 sons: Junior Dale Fields and Paul Edward Fields; 1 brother: David Fields; 1 sister: Jewel Burton; 2 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be will be today, Friday, May 31. 2024, from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Tri City Funeral Home at Benham.  

Funeral services for Junior Paul Fields will follow at 1:00pm this afternoon at the Tri City Funeral Home with Darrell Caudill officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Peaceful  Acres Cemetery at Hiram.

Ronnie Johnson, age 72, of Dorton, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024, at his residence. 

He is survived by 5 daughters: Gena Bowling of Marrowbone, Julie Edwards of Norton, VA, Rhonda Tackett of Dorton, Stacie Bryon of Dorton and Jessica Fleming of Neon; 4 brothers: Gary Johnson of Cynthiana, Ricky Johnson of Robinson Creek, Johnny Johnson of Williamsburg and Jamie Johnson of Virgie; 1 sister: Wilma Potter of Dorton, 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ronnie Johnson will be held on Saturday at 2:00PM at the Beefhide First Alliance Church with Rodney Bentley officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Bentley-Johnson Cemetery at Beefhide. 

Visitation will be this evening, Friday at the Beefhide First Alliance Church after 6:00PM with services beginning at 7:00PM.

Mary Elizabeth Higgins, age 85, of Redfox, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024, at her residence. 

She is survived by her children: Eugene Higgins, Janice Williams and Delena Higgins Toler

Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Higgins will be held at 2:00pm Saturday June 1, 2024 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Dr. Jarvis Williams officiating. 

Burial will follow at Higgins Cemetery at Sassafras.

Visitation will be held at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel Saturday from 12:00PM until time of service at 2:00PM.

Lawrence Shell, age 89, of Viper, passed away on Tuesday May 28, 2024 at his residence.

He is survived by 1 sister: Vernia McIntyre of Viper; sister-in-law, Donetta Shell of Phyllis; 1 Brother: Ellis Shell of Dayton, OH; special friends, Judy Ann Eldridge, Merle & Jonia Lewis and family; raised like a son: Marcus Barrett and 1 granddaughter. 

Visitation will be held beginning at 11:00am on Saturday June 1, 2024 at the Engle Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard.

Funeral Services for Lawrence Shell will follow at 12:00 noon Saturday at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Karl Baker, Bud Farler and Andrew Lewis officiating.  

Burial will follow in the Daniels Cemetery at Happy.

Military Rites will be performed by the Hazard-Perry County D.A.V. Chapter #64.
