LETCHER COUNTY, Ky. (WXKQ) – Members of the Letcher Fiscal Court say they plan to learn more about data centers before any proposal to build one in the county is presented.
Judge-Executive Terry Adams has said no company has approached the county about a data center, but officials want to be educated on the issue.
The discussion came after comments from congressional candidate Michael Wein, who said he has collected thousands of signatures across Eastern Kentucky opposing data center development.
Wein’s group is scheduled to hold a public meeting on the topic June 30 at the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library in Whitesburg.
