Letcher County Receives Money To Repair Roads Damaged After 2022 Flood

A new round of roadwork is set to start next month in Letcher County as the county continues to suffer from road damage from the July 2022 flood.

State Senator Johnnie Turner tells WYMT local officials have been trying doggedly to push through more money for fixes because in some cases the damage has been hindering emergency vehicles.

The county is reportedly getting some help from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s maintenance fund as well as $34 million from the state’s two-year road plan.
