A Letcher County man is reportedly being held on $1 million bond on allegations of shaking a baby later diagnosed with a brain bleed. Mountain Top News reports Cody Tucker of Whitesburg was arrested on December 13 and charged with first-degree assault. Police were reportedly called to Whitesburg ARH December 10 after a 7-month-old child was brought in with symptoms consistent with shaken baby syndrome including bleeding between the skull and brain on the left, right and rear of the head, bruising to the chest wall and heart; and decreased movement due to brain injury.
