Federal money to build an airport in Letcher County is reportedly on hold as part of overall federal spending under the microscope by President Trump’s Administration.
The Mountain Eagle reports that the Executive Director of Pine Mountain Partnership told the Letcher Fiscal Court last month that while they have in writing from the Federal Aviation Administration that they will pay for the airport in Isom, the actual money is currently paused.
The FAA gave the green light for the money in December and it is reportedly supposed to be triggered this fiscal year which ends in September.
