Leslie County Eagles Club Wants to Build Statue of Native Son Tim Couch

It’s been 25 years, but Leslie County has not forgotten about Tim Couch. Tim was a football star at Leslie High in the 90s, played for U-K, and was the first pick in the 1999 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. Now, some boosters want to put up a statue of him. The Eagles Nest club says it would honor Couch, inspire young people, and showcase the heritage of Leslie County. WYMT reports the Eagles Nest has started raising money for the project. The club hopes to find a spot on the High School campus and unveil the statue during the 2024 football season.
