On Wednesday, the Lexington Herald Leader and Kentucky.com released their annual boys and girls high school basketball all state teams.
Letcher County Central Cougar Peyton Dixon and Lady Cougar Kiera Couch were both named all state honorable mention! Congratulations to both!
On the girls side involving mountain players.
Miss Kentucky Pikeville’s Trinity Rowe was named first team.
All state Honorable mentions went to
Emmy Preace of Paintsville, Kyra McAlarnis of Perry County Central, Lakin Williams of Martin County, Kylie Gayheart of Knott County Central, Mikyra Caudill of Powell County, Ella Karst of Harlan County and Kiera Couch of Letcher County Central.
On the Boys side for the Herald Leader All state teams.
Harlan County’s Trent Noah was named 1st team
2nd team honors went to Aiden Barnett of Magoffin County and Maddox Huff of Harlan County
Austin Sperry of Breathitt County,
Pike County Central’s Jaylan Rigdon and Martin County’s Luke Hale made the 3rd team.
Boys All State Honorable Mention All State players from the mountains:
Charlie Fitzer of Pikeville, Elijah Bundy of Clay County, Evan Eversole of Hazard and Peyton Dixon of Letcher County Central.
