The three day, 8 game Mountain Strong Softball Classic wrapped up Saturday night at Letcher County Central.
The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars went 3-0 in the showcase beating Harlan County 15-0 on Friday night, beating Clay County 8-1 Saturday afternoon and getting a walk off win over Belfry 8-7 Saturday when a Katie Combs’ single and RBI broke the 7 all tie in the bottom of the 7th inning.
The now 14-9 LCC softball will play at Knott County Central Monday night in a district game at 6:00pm.
The Lady Cougars will then return home to face Cordia in a district doubleheader on Tuesday.
The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers softball got an exciting 8-7 home win over Prestonsburg Friday.
The 7-7 Jenkins girls will next play Monday night at home against Phelps at 6:00pm.
