Kentucky Survives Oklahoma on Last Second Shot in SEC Tournament

The Men’s SEC Tournament continued Thursday at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

In a thrilling game that ended about 1:15am this morning, the Kentucky Wildcats survive and advance with an 85-84 win over Oklahoma.

Just like the regular season matchup this one was a back and forth battle. Kentucky pulled away by 12 late in the game but a furious comeback by Oklahoma gave them the one point lead with 5.6 seconds to go. Otega Oweh drove the entire lenght of the court and put in the game winning basket with less than a second to go to give the Cats the win. Oweh, a former Oklahoma Sooner, led the Cats with 27 points.

Kentucky wins and advances to take on Alabama tonight in the SEC quarterfinals. Tipoff for the Cats and Crimson Tide is 9:30pm. We’ll have the game here on the Bulldog with pregame at 8:00pm.

Thursday’s other 3 games saw Ole Miss get by Arkansas 83-80, Texas upset Texas A & M 94-89 in Double OT, and Missouri beat Mississippi State 85-73.

Today’s quarterfinal games at the SEC Tournament will be Auburn taking on Ole Miss at 1:00pm, followed by Tennessee facing Texas.

Florida takes on Missouri at 7:00pm and Kentucky faces Alabama in the last game of the day around 9:30pm.

The SEC Tournament semifinals are Saturday and championship game Sunday in Nashville.
