Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Wants Your Real Christmas Trees

After Christmas, when it’s time to take down the tree, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife is asking you to bring it to them to help improve fisheries across the state. Officials say natural Christmas trees are used to improve fish habitat with sportfish such as largemouth bass, bluegill and crappie benefitting from the cover the trees provide. This is for real trees only and they should be free of all decorations. Trees can be dropped off December 26 through January 15 at several locations including Fishtrap Lake, the Perry County Conservation District Office, and the Carr Creek Lake Marina
