A former drug treatment clinic operator from Pikeville sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2021 for health care and wire fraud is not going to have his sentence reduced despite a new law. Eugene Sisco was convicted by a federal jury for forcing low-income patients to pay him for treatment that was already covered by Medicaid and also ordered tests that were not necessary. Mountain Top News reports Sisco asked a judge to reduce his sentence because of a recent change in law that allows certain offenders to have their sentences reduced. But last week the judge ruled Sisco did not meet the criteria.
