Jenkins Boys Win Over Letcher County Central for First Time Since 2007

In front of large and loud crowd Friday night at Jenkins High School gym, the Jenkins Cavaliers continued their fantastic season with a 53rd District win over county rival Letcher County Central 69-52.

It was the first win for Jenkins boys over Letcher County Central since 2007 and the first ever win over LCC at Jenkins Gym.

The Cougars Terry Delaney led all scorers with 31 and also had 12 rebounds. Bradyn Sexton had 25 for Jenkins and Cam Hayes had 24 for the Cavaliers.

Jenkins and Letcher County Central will meet again on February 13th at LCC.

The Jenkins boys won another game with a Saturday win at KACHEA of Kingsport 54-48.

In the girls game that was part of the doubleheader at Jenkins, the LCC Lady Cougars won over Jenkins.

Saturday, the Letcher County Central Lady Cougars lost a close one to Breathitt County 41-38 in overtime at the KY Prep Showcase being played at Jackson City.
