Jenkins Boys Honored For His Heroics in Swimming Incident

A nine-year-old Jenkins boy is set to be honored by the Jenkins Police Department for coming to the rescue of another child who couldn’t swim.

Benjamin Noah Gibson was on vacation with his family in Mount Airy last weekend.

The Mountain Eagle reports he was swimming in a hotel pool that had no lifeguard when he saw an 8-year-old boy struggling and pulled him out of the pool.

Jenkins Police Chief Jim Stephens tells the paper he will award Noah a letter recognizing his heroism at the next Jenkins City Council meeting.
