Many schools, colleges and businesses are closed today as the massive Hurricane Helene moves inland through the South.
Helene made landfall last night on Florida’s Big Bend and is bringing us warnings for flooding as well as high winds through late tonight.
Forecasters say we could see sustained winds up to 25 mph but with gusts up to 60
mph so widespread power outages are expected as trees and wires come down.
Meanwhile widespread showers with some embedded thunderstorms could bring some
periods of torrential rain and flash flooding
