Hazard Police Introduce a New Community Protection Tool

Hazard Police have a new tool to help protect the community. The Department now has a FARO 3D Scanner which allows them to document the layout of a school or other building to give officers a heads-up if they have to go in for a situation. It can also be used to document a crime scene and do accident reconstruction. HPD Major Zach Miller tells WYMT they now have four officers trained on the use of the high-tech laser scanner and they are getting ready to start scanning schools to be prepared in the event of an emergency saying it should be able to help them cut down their response time.
