Harlan Honors Former Solid Waste Coordinator

Harlan County leaders are heaping kudos on a citizen for his more than 40 years of constant effort to keep the county clean. Judge-Executive Dan Mosley tells WYMT the annual springtime county cleanup that unites citizens to remove hundreds of tons of garbage each year has been led by former Solid Waste Coordinator Lakis Mavinidis. Mosley says Mavinidis has been the face of the clean-up programs and credits him for much of its success. Mavinidis says while it is nice to be honored, none of it would be possible without the folks living in Harlan County coming together to do it.
